There are many dental assisting programs to choose from in this area. Most are traditional semester classes, Mon-Fri for one year or more. Our program is designed for those students who may not have the option of returning to a traditional school week due to work or home demands. SDCC offers classes on Saturdays only for 11 weeks. You will be taught the skills necessary to become an integral part of any dental team, a Dental Assistant. Upon graduating, you will receive a Certificate in Dental Assisting I, certification in Dental Radiology and CPR Certification. SDCC is licensed by the North Carolina Community College System as well and has received accreditation to instruct Dental Radiology through the North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners.

The course is designed to give the student maximum “hands-on” training and experience in a real, working dental office. Our facility is equipped with the very latest state-of-the-art dental equipment and audio-visual teaching aids. You will be taught the most up to date techniques using the very best technology available. The teaching is stimulating, fast paced, and relies heavily on individual participation. Class Size is limited to 24 students per class. This insures personal attention and a worthwhile learning experience. You will not have time to be bored.

A career of helping people improve their dental health will be rewarding and enormously satisfying for you. No two days will ever be the same and your job will continuously renew itself. It is a career that will always be in demand and in need of capable, trained and caring Dental Assistants. It could be a career for you!
